Wahl
The road that led to the creation of Wahl Clipper Corporation began in 1910, when a Sterling High School student, Leo J. Wahl, experimented with an electromagnetic vibrator. Later, as an engineering student at the University of Illinois, Leo Wahl designed a medical massager for his uncle J. Frank Wahl, who began producing the massagers in a small plant in Sterling, Illinois. Leo spent his free time selling the massagers at barbershops, noticing the need to improve their work tools.
