Xiaomi Mi Robot Self-Charging Vacuum Cleaner

For the version of its famous Robot vacuum cleaner, also marketed under the name Roborock Sweep One, Xiaomi turned to a company specialized in home automation - Roborock, to be precise - subsidizing its technological research which led to the creation of the new model.

Compared to the previous one, the second edition of the Mi Robot is also equipped with a water tank and a cloth for washing the floor. In addition to the addition of the microfiber cloth and the tank, this new version of the Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner has greater suction power and new and more precise sensors compared to the previous version.

 

The cleaning system via laser mapping has also been improved, now it is also possible to set only one area of the house to be cleaned. The LDS sensor analyzes the environment 360 degrees 5 times per second, then the robot's SLAM algorithm creates a path for optimal room cleaning. Through the MiHome application it is then possible to customize the areas to be cleaned. The laser turret has been equipped with a new pressure sensor, so the robot avoids collisions with suspended structures such as the bottom of a sofa, sanitary ware and all the various pieces of furniture where the robot could get stuck, risking damage to the laser sensor.

A new ST ToF (Time of Flight) proximity sensor allows the vacuum cleaner to stay a few millimeters from the walls, improving cleaning with the side brushes. The front of the robot has also been equipped with a rubber bumper to protect furniture and walls from any collisions.
