MODIFI3D ORIGINAL is a heated tool with interchangeable specially coated tips, designed to finish, repair and modify 3D printed parts. MODIFI3D ORIGINAL is designed to replace much of the sanding, scraping and breaking away that is needed to finish 3D prints.
The pen-like shape of MODIFI3D ORIGINAL makes it very comfortable to use and extremely easy to control when accuracy is important. MODIFI3D ORIGINAL works with PLA, ABS and other 3D print materials.

Knife Tip
Cutting and removing sections, including supports, brims and rafts, from your 3D print. Includes a special coating to prevent plastic sticking to the tip.
Needle Tip
Great for cleaning up small holes and details or for finishing layers in hard to reach places. Includes a special coating to prevent plastic sticking to the tip.
Point Tip
Multi-purpose tip for larger internal holes and details. Can also be used to drill holes after printing! Includes a special coating to prevent plastic sticking to the tip.
Spoon Tip
Perfect for removing stringing and imperfections from holes or cavities. Can also be used to blend surfaces. Includes a special coating to prevent plastic sticking to the tip.
How To Use
- Remove the protective cap (if in use) and place MODIFI3D ORIGINAL on the included stand.
- Connect the USB cable (USB 2.0 or 3.0 recommended).
- Touch the metal switch to begin heating. A red light indicates MODIFI3D ORIGINAL is on.
- In under 15 seconds, MODIFI3D ORIGINAL will reach approximately 300°C (572°F) and is ready to use. To increase temperature or reach the maximum of 420-450°C (788-842°F), keep touching the metal switch until the desired temperature is reached.
- If MODIFI3D ORIGINAL is not used for 25 seconds it will go into sleep mode (the light will turn off and the tip will begin to cool). To reactivate MODIFI3D ORIGINAL, simply touch the switch gently and the heating process will continue.
How to clean your MODIFI3D Original tips
Over time, you may wish to clean your interchangeable tips. We recommend using a damp sponge to remove any plastic residue or debris from the tips. This method works best when the tips are still warm (but obviously not warm enough to present a burning risk). Make sure the USB port is unplugged and the tips have cooled to a safe temperature.
Do not use abrasive cleaning products. These may damage the special coating on your tips.
