Spectrum PLA Carbon 1.75mm 1kg
Spectrum PLA Carbon 1.75mm 1kg
Improved hardness and stiffness
PLA Carbon is a modified PLA-based filament mixed with carbon fibres that contributes to significantly higher stiffness, hardness and tensile strength, while maintaining the low shrinkage and excellent adhesion to build platforms typical of pure PLA. The 10% carbon fibre addition provides a matt surface finish to the printed items, which significantly improves the aesthetic properties of the printed items.
Hint: Due to the essential carbon fibre content, it is advisable to use nozzles with diameters greater than the standard value of 0.4 mm. The presence of carbon fibre can also cause brass nozzle wear, so it is advisable to use stainless steel nozzles for prolonged application of Spectrum Carbon PLA.
Key Features:
- improved hardness and stiffness compared to pure PLA
- higher plasticization temperature
- improved abrasion resistance
- much higher compression resistance
- good mechanical properties
- high aesthetic quality and matt surface
- no shrinkage after cooling
Applications:
- items that need to be very rigid and hard while maintaining dimensional accuracy
- manufacture of spacer components subject to compressive static loads
- concept and demonstrative prototyping of finished and semi-finished designed products
- ornamental parts (aesthetic properties)
- external structural components that highlight the product
- prototyping
Packaging
The filament is wound on the neat, transparent spool. Each spool contains information about the type of material, diameter and recommended printing temperature. The filament is vacuum packed with a moisture absorber. The whole product is packed in the original Spectrum Filaments film-coated packaging.
