A series of strange disappearances have occurred in the midwestern United States, in a city called Raccoon City. A specialized police force team known as S.T.A.R.S. investigated, establishing that the pharmaceutical company Umbrella and its biological weapon, the T-virus, are the cause of the incident that led to the disappearance of some members.
Jill Valentine and the other S.T.A.R.S. survivors try to make this truth known, but discover that the police department itself is under Umbrella's control and that their reports are being rejected. However, news of gruesome acts of cannibalism soon emerges, and rabid dogs begin to roam the streets. With evil spreading throughout the city, Jill is determined to survive. Unbeknownst to Jill, however, an extremely powerful pursuer has already been dispatched to eliminate her.
