NOBO by Dimplex Norwegian Electric Radiators

NOBO by Dimplex Norwegian electric radiators are low-consumption electric convection heaters designed in the cold lands of Norway.

Thanks to a heating element with the widest heat exchange surface on the market and an innovative electronic thermostat, compliant with the EcoDesign ErP 2018 LOT20 directive, NOBO by Dimplex electric radiators uniformly heat the room where they are installed by natural convection.

With optional thermostats, it is also possible to fine-tune temperature control and manage temperatures directly via a smartphone app, saving energy and optimizing management.

Modern Design and Functionality

Modern and reliable, NOBO electric radiators are capable of distributing heat by natural convection, allowing warm air to exit from the top of the product without forced ventilation. Their absolute silence makes them perfect for all environments. The modern, clean lines and rounded corners with a distinct Nordic look ensure they fit into any environment and with any furniture. They can be wall-mounted thanks to the convenient brackets provided or easily transportable thanks to the comfortable base with wheels (optional accessory).

How does it work?

NOBO Norwegian electric radiators are a low-consumption electric heating system that works thanks to the natural convection of air.

Installed near the floor, they are able to draw in cold air that normally settles at the bottom. The air is then heated by the heating element with a large heat exchange surface. In this way, the warm air rises, exiting from the top of the product, and spreads throughout the room.

The room is thus heated uniformly, increasing comfort and the pleasure of natural and healthy warmth. One of the features that distinguishes NOBO Norwegian electric radiators is the heating element capable of operating at low temperatures (maximum 80°).

Advantages

  1. Neither oxygen nor dust is burned, avoiding damage to the respiratory tract, dry mouth effect, the smell of burning, and the danger of fire.
  2. The warm air that comes out does not stratify in the upper part of the room but heats the environment uniformly.
  3. The radiator's consumption remains low thanks to energy optimization.

NCU-2Te Thermostat

NOBO Norwegian electric radiators are supplied with the innovative NCU-2Te digital thermostat, compliant with the European EcoDesign 2018 directive. It features an adaptive function that allows the radiator to switch on earlier than the set program to have the room warm at the set time.

How many Watts do you need?

To choose the right Norwegian electric radiator, it is necessary to consider the surface and volume of the environment to be heated, the level of insulation, and the number and quality of the existing windows and doors.

50W per square meter

A good sizing rule is to calculate approximately 50W per square meter to be heated. For example, a 750W electric radiator is usually sufficient to heat a 15sqm room. However, the age of the property and the climatic zone should not be underestimated. For example, for new homes in energy class A, up to 40W per square meter can be considered, while for older homes with poor insulation, the necessary power can reach up to 80/100W per square meter.

An electric radiator under each window

Installing an oversized radiator is generally better than an undersized one. In the case of rooms with a surface area or volume borderline between one model and another, we recommend choosing the more powerful model. Generally, this choice does not lead to higher electricity consumption but increases the efficiency of the radiator itself, which will be able to heat the room with greater "agility" and speed. In particularly large rooms, it can also be advantageous to install several smaller power elements instead of a single very powerful one to achieve better heat distribution.

The ideal installation point for each radiator is under each window, as this is where cold air tends to accumulate most in the room.

Practical tips

The radiators should be installed at a height of approximately 10/20 cm from the floor. In fact, cold air, being denser than warm air, tends to settle downwards.

The Norwegian electric radiator, by heating the cold air, is able to uniformly increase the temperature throughout the environment.
