PEI Coated

PrimaCreator’s PEI Ultem (Polyetherimide) is a reusable, relatively maintenance-free print surface for both ABS (with a heated bed) and PLA (hot or cold), other materials such as metal, wood, PETG, ABS+, and many more also work just as well. You don’t need any additional adhesives such as glue or tape. PEI is appealing due to its "no-surface-prep" conditions, which make it convenient to work with. Also, printing on PEI requires no support rafts as parts adhere directly to the surface with no issues.

How to use

Attach the plate to the print surface with the PEI side facing up. Thanks to the magnets in the plate, it's easy. You don't need any adhesives, but if you're planning on printing something large or for a very long time, we recommend using PrimaFix adhesive stick, which will make your parts adhere even better, and come off even easier when the print is done. After the print is done, simply let the plate cool, remove it, and gently bend it. You can then just “pop” the model off the plate.

Before each print, wipe your PEI surface with 70-91% Isopropyl alcohol, to ensure that you wipe away any grease or other residue that may have accumulated on the surface. This will help to increase the surface adhesion dramatically. Use acetone, isopropyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, or soap to clean the PEI after use.
