PolyWood

PolyWood™ is made entirely from PLA using a special foaming technology. It has the same density and appearance as wood. PolyWood™ is a wood-like filament without actual wood powder, which eliminates all risks of nozzle clogging.

Since polywood contains no wood, any color can be combined with the material. Printed parts have an extraordinary surface finish, and visual layering is minimized. Other colors and materials are already under development.

Polywood™ is the only 3D printable foam to date. The density of Polywood is on average 0.8 g/cm3, which is about 35-40% less than PLA. Due to the low density, the component has a lower weight.

Recommended settings

• Nozzle temperature: 190˚C – 210˚C
• Print speed: 30 mm/s – 50 mm/s
• Bed temperature: 25˚C – 60˚C
• Bed surface: glass with glue, blue tape, BuilTak®
