Onimusha: Warlords was first revealed in 2001 on PlayStation 2 and introduced players to a world brimming with darkness, magic, and demonic greed. Set in feudal Japan after the events of a groundbreaking battle, it told the story of the honorable samurai Samanosuke Akechi and the ninja Kaede on a mission to save Princess Yuki from the mysterious demons that have invaded Inabayama Castle. As the two travel through the castle, they uncover a malevolent plot by those who would serve the evil lord Nobunaga Oda. At the time of its release, Onimusha: Warlords sold over 2 million copies worldwide and quickly became a beloved game thanks to its sword-based gameplay, stunning graphics that exuded a cinematic atmosphere, and a compelling story fraught with conflict.

Although merely human, Samanosuke is able to defeat the demons infesting the castle and obtains the Oni Gauntlet, which allows him to absorb their souls for multiple purposes such as health regeneration and weapon enhancement. Along with the three elemental blades he collects along the way, Samanosuke uses his vast arsenal of weapons in his quest to save Princess Yuki. In some segments of the game, you control Kaede, who wields her intricate weapon kit perfect for taking down unsuspecting demons.

Onimusha: Warlords will be available for modern consoles and will include some updated features to enhance your demon-slaying adventure.

KEY FEATURES

High-Definition Graphics - Characters, background graphics, and cutscenes have received a high-definition update to improve visibility in your mission to save the princess.

Widescreen Support, New Display Options - Both the original game's display (4:3) and the more standard widescreen display (16:9) are supported. Display settings can be changed between 4:3 and 16:9 at any time during gameplay. Specific screens, including parts of the menu screen, are fixed to 16:9 or 4:3.

Screen Scroll Function - A screen scroll function has also been added for widescreen display. The background scrolls up and down based on player movements, showing areas that cannot be fully viewed from certain positions.

Analog Stick Support: In addition to the original controls, this new version allows players to move using analog sticks. This added feature makes it easier to move instinctively and quickly change direction.

Easy Mode Available from the Start: Easy Mode is unlocked for players from the start of the game, which was not available in the original game. This addition makes it easier for both newcomers and those who haven't played Onimusha: Warlords in a while to immediately dive into this world.
