Legend of Mana is a remaster of an old 90s game, but it still feels very current.
Gameplay Combat is action-based, with buttons for quick attack, heavy attack, and special attacks, which consume the classic ability bar, rechargeable by fighting. However, enemies are always preset in the same spots, and a screen change is enough to make them reappear. But the fights are very fast. Among the new features of this remaster is the ability to cancel non-essential combat for the storyline, an option I personally ignored, because I don't know how one could accumulate experience and money otherwise. Of course, there are also towns to visit, with the inevitable shopkeepers and NPCs.
Graphics The scenarios are beautiful to look at, probably hand-drawn. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the characters, because a very retro pixel style was chosen, and this initially creates a contrast between very well-detailed, sharp, and colorful backgrounds and decidedly undefined inhabitants. But it is also true that after a while, you get used to it.
A curious feature of Legend of Mana is that we have the ability to customize our world map. At the beginning, we will be asked in which region to start, and immediately after that, where exactly to place our home. As the game progresses, we will find various "artifacts," objects that are essentially villages and dungeons that will let us decide where on the map to place them. However, I believe that once inside them, regardless of where we decide to place them, nothing changes at all.
