It is the second game in the series and is a direct sequel to Kingdom Hearts. Its ending takes place approximately one year before Kingdom Hearts II. The story focuses on the protagonist of the first game, Sora, as he explores a mysterious castle in search of his friends. As he ascends the castle, his friend and rival, Riku, explores the basements and battles his inner darkness. The game introduces new characters and storylines that further expand the Kingdom Hearts universe and set the premise for Kingdom Hearts II.
KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
On Destiny Islands live three children named Sora, Riku, and Kairi. The three friends want to leave the Islands to explore new worlds and have prepared a raft for this purpose. One night, the Islands are attacked by creatures made of darkness: the Heartless. Sora searches for his friends, but Riku disappears into a dark portal and Kairi vanishes into thin air as he tries to grab her. Sora, meanwhile, obtains the Keyblade, a mysterious weapon that proves effective against the Heartless. The islands are destroyed, and Sora drifts into space. Meanwhile, King Mickey has left his world to deal with the growing number of Heartless and has left instructions for Donald and Goofy to find the "key" that can protect the world from darkness.
KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days
The game is a prequel to Kingdom Hearts II and narrates events contemporary to Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, and subsequently to the latter, connecting directly with the beginning of Kingdom Hearts II but focusing on Roxas's life. The game's title implies that the 358-day arc narrated in the chapter was experienced by two distinct characters (Roxas and Xion) who are actually two halves of the same person (Sora).

KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX
The game is a prequel to the first Kingdom Hearts released on PlayStation 2 and takes place ten years before the events surrounding Sora. The story focuses on the journey of three characters: Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, who appeared in the secret ending of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, as they search for Master Xehanort. The game uses a combat system different from other episodes in the series, with new gameplay elements such as the Command Deck, D-Link, and Shotlocks.
KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX
Sora, Donald, and Goofy have been in suspended animation for a year to recover their lost memories in Chain of Memories. Meanwhile, Roxas, Sora's Nobody, is trapped in a virtual simulation of Twilight Town, created by DiZ to merge Roxas with his original self and restore Sora's power. DiZ's plans are threatened when the Nobodies and Axel, Roxas's former friend when he was in the Organization, infiltrate the virtual city, but Roxas is repeatedly able to fend off enemies and eventually merge with Sora. Sora, Donald, and Goofy wake up in the real Twilight Town and meet King Mickey and Yen Sid, who send them on another journey. Their goal is to find Riku and stop the plans of Organization XIII, which controls the Nobodies.
KINGDOM HEARTS Re: coded
It is a puzzle video game, originally released episodically and focusing on a young Sora and Mickey. The remake contains a Secret Epilogue in which Yen Sid reveals to King Mickey, due to the impending threat of Xehanort, that he wants to subject Sora and Riku to the Mark of Mastery Exam, thus initiating Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
