Joy-Cons make the Nintendo Switch console truly unique: they offer full control, in any gaming situation, both at home and on the go.
For example, they can be removed from the console and used in pairs to form a single controller (it is recommended to use the Joy-Con Grip, included with the purchase of every console, or the Joy-Con Charging Grip, sold separately).
Each Joy-Con can also be used individually, either horizontally (for classic game control) or vertically, leveraging accurate motion sensors and much more, for an engaging and immersive gaming experience (make sure the software supports these features). They can also be inserted into the console for comfortable gaming outside the home. Joy-Cons are also perfect for multiplayer gaming: just share them with friends for group fun!
The left Joy-Con features a Capture Button that players can press to take screenshots of gameplay to share with friends on social media. The right Joy-Con includes an NFC sensor that allows interaction with amiibo, as well as an IR motion camera capable of detecting the distance, shape, and motion of nearby objects in specially designed games. This allows the controller, for example, to measure how far away a player's hand is, and even distinguish between rock, paper, and scissors. Both Joy-Cons include an advanced HD rumble feature, which can perform much more realistic vibrations than in the past in compatible games. The effect is so detailed that a player could, for example, feel the vibration of individual ice cubes clashing in a glass when a Joy-Con is shaken. HD rumble provides realism otherwise only achievable with sound and graphics.
