What are micelles?
Micelles are formed by molecules with a hydrophilic "head" (water-loving) and a hydrophobic "tail" (water-hating). These molecules tend to cluster so that the tails are away from the water and the heads surround, staying in contact with the water. The tails then pass through the dirt.
How they work.
Cleansing active ingredients work individually to clean the skin.
To remove all dirt, you have to rub, risking skin irritation. Micelles act like magnets that attract impurities in a single gentle motion, without rubbing.
Impurities are trapped inside the micelles. The aqueous solution containing them gently carries them away.
