This new edition does not present too many obvious differences compared to the Wii U version; however, it benefits from sharper visuals and some additional shadow and environmental effects.
As for resolution and framerate, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze runs at 1080p in docked mode and 648p in handheld mode, maintaining 60 frames per second without any uncertainty.
A great advantage of this port is the reduction in loading times: while the Wii U game took 40 seconds to load the initial screen, on Nintendo Switch it only takes 11 seconds.
