Welcome to DiRT Rally, a new world of DiRT. Pure rally, the pinnacle of off-road motorsport, begins now, in Early Access, with regular free updates including new locations, new game modes, and new vehicles.
DiRT Rally captures the essence of what makes rally unique: trying to maintain emotional control while speeding at breakneck speeds on dangerous and winding roads, attempting to make the most of the car's potential and knowing that a collision could ruin the stage. It is the ultimate test of a driver's skill and is the ultimate for a game where the high risk is proportional to the reward.
In each stage, the driver tests their skill differently, feeling the grip along different surfaces and adapting their driving style to various weather conditions. As the car is affected by friction, mechanical damage must be taken into account while the dedicated rally team tries to keep the driver competitive with rapid repairs between stages. As the stages are grouped, each rally becomes a marathon test of concentration and skill, relying on the co-driver and one's own abilities to react and adapt, in order to stay competitive and chase the perfect, always elusive, run.
Over time we will add cars, environments and tracks, in fact we have just added a selection of the best circuits from the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship. During the summer we will add competitive online game mode, as well as new features based on feedback from our community.
What is the current status of the Early Access version?
At the beginning of August, we enriched the World RX content with 3 fantastic new cars and the Lydden Hill and Höljes circuits, while at the end of the same month we added multiplayer mode, 3 new cars and the Hell circuit, in Norway.
RALLY CHAMPIONSHIPS, RALLY ASYNC AND CUSTOM RALLY EVENTS: Across Rally, Hillclimb and Rallycross, tackle a single stage and practice in Custom Rally events, compete against increasingly skilled opponents in Rally Seasons or test yourself against the entire community of players in Rally Async challenges.
DiRT RALLY AND THE COMMUNITY: The community is DiRT Rally's co-driver and their feedback will help shape the evolution of the experience. The team welcomes feedback from DiRT Rally Early Access players and on the road ahead. This will be useful for testing theories and providing realistic data that will help define DiRT Rally.
EXPERIENCE THE 8 IMPRESSIVE NEW REAL-WORLD RALLY ENVIRONMENTS: DiRT Rally now offers eight great environments with 50 challenging stages and 2 World RX tracks, each with 2 junior circuits, with more to follow. Drive during the day, in dry, overcast, sunny, foggy, wet, rainy and snowy weather conditions, and then tackle the same tracks at night, for an intense and ever-changing experience that will thrill the most avid players.
Hell, Norway: this explosive circuit is made of the rocks used in the construction of ammunition silos.
Powys, Wales: race on muddy stages, with wet gravel and woodlands, often in the rain, day and night.
Monte Carlo, Monaco: narrow, winding and dangerous roads covered in snow and ice that wind along the Alps. Snow and fog reduce daytime and nighttime visibility.
Argolis, Greece: tackle dusty gravel stages that challenge even the toughest rally cars, in the intense heat of the Mediterranean, both in daylight and at night.
14 CARS IN 6 NEW AND CLASSIC CATEGORIES TO TRY NOW: Soon Rally will have the right car and DiRT Rally will have them all. At the launch of Early Access, DiRT Rally offers 14 cars and, in the future, will add more and more categories.
NEW DRIVING MODEL: The physics simulation for DIRT Rally has been completely rebuilt to fully capture the sensation of racing on changing surfaces and feeling unstable surfaces under the wheels during corners, creating a new sense of sliding around corners.
RALLY CHAMPIONSHIPS, RALLY ASYNC AND CUSTOM RALLY EVENTS: Tackle a single stage and stay updated on Custom Rally events, compete against incredibly skilled opponents in Rally Seasons or test yourself against the entire community of players in Rally Async challenges.
UPGRADES: As you drive a vehicle during events, your engineers will become familiar with it and look for upgrades that will maximize the car's potential. DiRT Rally's comprehensive upgrade system offers significant improvements to the car's handling and performance, allowing the driver to remain competitive.
OPTIMIZATION: Offering the most comprehensive optimization system in a DiRT game, DiRT Rally allows players to optimize cars based on weather conditions, the vehicle's condition itself and much more, ensuring a definition of adjustments and a car that suits their driving style.
DAMAGE AND REPAIRS: Off-road racing is demanding and challenging: due to the complexity of the race, vehicles suffer wear and tear, as replicated by DiRT Rally's comprehensive mechanical damage system. Fortunately, damage can be repaired by hiring engineers who work at the team's service area between stages. As in Colin McRae Rally games, there is a determined amount of time to repair cars between rally stages.
PHYSICS-BASED ASSISTANCE OPTIONS: Speed is a matter of skill, not mere velocity. In addition to allowing players to experience cars in their purest form, DiRT Rally also offers a selection of realistic assistance options, similar to those seen on racing and road vehicles. Traction control minimizes wheel spin, ABS improves braking ability by preventing wheel lock, and stability control prevents the car from over-rotating in corners.
