The story begins seven years before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII (1997) and follows Zack Fair, a young and ambitious SOLDIER from Shinra. Zack is tasked with tracking down a 1st Class SOLDIER named Genesis Rhapsodos. During his mission, however, he will uncover the dark secrets of Shinra's experiments and the monsters that are created. Cloud, Sephiroth, Aerith, and other characters from the FINAL FANTASY VII franchise appear in the game.
