PLA is the most well-known type of 3D filament, probably because it is one of the easiest 3D filaments to print and does not warp easily, therefore it does not require a heated bed (although heating it is definitely useful). Another advantage of using PLA is that it is considered an odorless filament and is more environmentally friendly than many other 3D printer filaments.
So it seems like a perfect 3D filament, but just like any other plastic, it has some drawbacks; PLA material has low temperature resistance and will begin to lose mechanical strength at temperatures above 60 °C. It's also important to remember that this filament is brittle, so avoid creating 3D models in PLA that might be bent, twisted, or dropped repeatedly. Rather, use it to make 3D models such as decorations, low-wear toys, prototype parts, and containers.
Although our PLA filament is made from materials that are safe for use with food, we do not recommend drinking or eating frequently from your 3D prints, as bacteria can accumulate over time.
