BlueCast X-Filigree V2 - Precision Castable Resin for Extreme Filigree
BlueCast X-Filigree V2 is the precision castable resin developed specifically to meet the needs of Middle Eastern designers and for printing extremely thin and light models. This V2 version improves upon the previous one, ensuring perfect printing properties, sharp details and excellent dimensional stability over time with zero shrinkage.
V2 Version Improvements
X-Filigree V2 introduces significant updates compared to version V1:
- Special wax-like polymer: advanced formula ensuring impeccable printing properties and sharp details
- Unparalleled dimensional stability: zero shrinkage over time, crucial for professional series production
- Low viscosity: compatible with any DLP and LCD printer, even at low temperatures
- Optimized physical and mechanical properties: requires few printing supports
- Printing profiles identical to V1: backward compatibility for existing X-Filigree users
Distinctive Features
- Zero bleeding: absolute precision even on LCD printers
- Zero shrinkage: dimensional stability over time for all thicknesses
- Low viscosity: facilitates cleaning and recovery from patterns, even at low temperatures
- Strong platform adhesion: no primer needed
- Universal compatibility: works perfectly with any type of investment and burnout cycle
- Rigid patterns: printed models are harder and more rigid compared to other BlueCast resins
- Standard burnout (12 hours): compatible with traditional cycles
- Fast burnout (6 hours): rapid casting
- Ultra-fast burnout (2 hours at 700°C): specifically validated for X-One and X-Filigree V2
Ideal Applications
- Extreme filigree and ultra-thin designs typical of the Middle Eastern and Asian market
- Lightweight jewelry with thin walls and micro-pavé
- Highly detailed models with microscopic engravings
- Series production where dimensional stability is critical
- Designs that require few printing supports
Not recommended for: solid parts and heavy models (for these, X-One is recommended)

Certifications and Safety
The resin complies with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH) and Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP). The complete safety data sheet (revision 07/02/2022) highlights:
- Classification: Repr. 2 H361f (suspected of damaging fertility), Aquatic Chronic 3 H412 (harmful to aquatic life with long-lasting effects)
- Precautions: P281 (wear personal protective equipment), P273 (avoid release to the environment), P405 (store locked up)
- Disposal: European waste code 08 01 99
- Components: Oligomers (10-70%), Additives (10-70%), Photoinitiators (0.1-5%, CAS 75980-60-8)
Usage Procedure
Before printing:
- For maximum detail, use HD FEP or No-FEP (PFA); low-quality FEP may compromise printability
- Perform Z-axis calibration according to manufacturer's instructions
- Heat the resin before use using: microwave (max 30 seconds), ultrasonic cleaners, hot air, bottle warmer, etc.
- Shake the bottle for 1 minute before pouring into the vat
- Let the resin rest in the vat for 5 minutes to eliminate bubbles (or filter/vacuum)
- Do not store resin in the vat: remove, filter, and store in the original bottle after each print
Post-printing and cleaning:
- Patterns printed with this resin are harder and more rigid than other BlueCast resins
- Clean with 91-99% ethyl alcohol or IPA
- Ultrasonic cleaning: 2 minutes (recommended procedure)
- Washing machine: approximately 3 minutes
- Simple immersion: approximately 5 minutes
- Dry with compressed air (or hairdryer if unavailable)
- Mandatory UV post-curing: minimum 10 minutes
- After UV post-curing, a quick wash with fresh alcohol ensures excellent casting results (dry again)
- Standard burnout: 12 hours with traditional cycles
- Fast burnout: 6 hours
- Ultra-fast burnout (validated only for X-One and X-Filigree V2): 3 hours rest, then 700°C for 60-90 minutes, cool to casting temperature and hold for 60 minutes
Comparison with Other BlueCast Resins
- X-One: superior castability, ideal for heavy and solid models
- X-Filigree V2: extreme printability, zero shrinkage, ideal for filigree and thin models
- Both: excellent performance, almost on par according to independent tests
X-Filigree V2 vs X-Wax Filigree:
- X-Wax Filigree: wax-based, more flexible, ideal for Arabic patterns and shipping
- X-Filigree V2: waxy polymer, more rigid after UV, absolute dimensional stability, ideal for mass production
Why Choose X-Filigree V2?
X-Filigree V2 is the absolute precision castable resin for those working with extreme filigrees, Middle Eastern designs, and ultra-thin jewelry. Unlike X-One (unbeatable for heavy models), X-Filigree V2 excels in extreme printability, zero dimensional shrinkage and compatibility with very light models.
It is the ideal choice for Middle Eastern designers, professional goldsmiths and casting services who require absolute dimensional stability in mass production, few printing supports and perfect casting results with ultra-fast burnout.
