On a rainy November night, a woman's body is found in an abandoned theme park, straddling a carousel. She had been stabbed repeatedly, and her left eye had been gouged out. Kaname Date of the Metropolitan Police Department arrives at the scene. He recognizes the woman. Suddenly, he hears a noise from inside the carousel. He breaks into the carousel's central column to find a young girl. And in her hands, she clutches a bloody ice pick.
