PRIMASELECT™ PP POLYPROPYLENE - 2.85MM - 500 G - NATURAL
PRIMASELECT™ PP POLYPROPYLENE - 2.85MM - 500 G - NATURAL
PrimaSELECT Polypropylene (PP) is a semi-rigid and very lightweight material. PP is often used in storage and packaging applications. Now you can get this commonly used thermoplastic as a 3D printer filament.
The material properties of PrimaSELECT PP:
- Dishwasher and microwave safe
- Excellent adhesion of individual layers
- FDA approved for food contact
- High chemical resistance – Fatigue resistant
PrimaSELECT Polypropylene 3D Printer Filament:
PrimaSELECT Polypropylene (PP) is a semi-rigid and lightweight material. PP is widely used in storage and packaging applications. Now you can 3D print this amazing material as a filament.
PP filament with high optical transparency
PrimaSELECT PP has been developed with high optical transparency. The transparency does not affect the mechanical properties. PrimaSELECT PP has excellent layer adhesion. This PP produces a very smooth surface when 3D printing. PrimaSELECT PP is ideal for 3D printing hinges or straps. Process this high-performance material as a filament on your 3D printer.
Polypropylene – One of the most widely used plastics
PrimaSELECT PP is one of the materials when it comes to prototyping and end-user products. Polypropylene is one of the most widely used plastics in the world. PP convinces with its high toughness and fatigue resistance. PrimaSELECT PP has good heat resistance up to over 100°C. In addition, the material is also resistant to most chemicals and acids, including strong industrial detergents. Prima SELECT PP has a high electrical resistance. PP is insensitive to moisture. Due to the low density of the material, finished 3D prints are very lightweight.
PP filament is dishwasher safe and microwaveable
Another argument for PrimaSELECT PP is that the material is dishwasher safe and microwaveable. This opens up the use in a wide range of applications for this exciting material. PrimaSELECT PP is also fully FDA approved and complies with EU Regulation No. 1935/2004 on materials. This regulates materials that come into contact with food.
Requirements for 3D printing PP
PrimaSELECT PP does not adhere well to common surfaces such as BuildTak, glass or PEI coatings. The best way to get PrimaSELECT PP to adhere well is to use regular packing tape or polypropylene film. A heated build plate is also required. We recommend using a 3D printer with an enclosed build space. If you are additively manufacturing smaller models, you can also do this on your open 3D printer.
Nozzle for 3D printing PP
PrimaSELECT PP can be processed with a conventional nozzle. No special nozzle is required.
